THE WORD OF THE MONTH
Editorial leadership · Localization · Cultural commentary · Humor
Making sense of the news, one English word at a time.
Published monthly from 2010–2022, The Word of the Month used words and expressions from the headlines as a starting point for short, illustrated explorations of language, culture, politics, and current events. Developed at Aimigo with editorial involvement from co-founder Benjamin Levy and original artwork by Jim Sheppard, the series aimed to make contemporary English accessible, informative, and entertaining for an international audience, and was also published through LeMonde.fr.
My role
As lead author, I helped shape the project's editorial voice and wrote the monthly editions. I also sourced and managed contributors for French, Spanish, and German adaptations, coordinating the expansion of the series across languages. The work combined editorial judgment, research, humor, localization, and collaboration with illustrators, translators, and publishing partners.
A decade of the series was later collected in the bilingual hardcover 10 Years of the Word of the Month (2022), produced in collaboration with CALEC.

THE UNOFFICIAL STORY OF GYMGLISH
Brand storytelling · Copywriting · Communications · Company voice
Telling a company's story by making most of it up.
Created for Gymglish's 10th anniversary in 2014, The Unofficial Story of Gymglish was a humorous booklet and digital project designed to introduce the company to clients, partners, employees, recruits, and friends. Working from broad themes provided by co-founder Benjamin Levy—our origins, team, offices, philosophy, mission, parties, and business practices—I transformed them into a fictionalized company history that communicated real ideas through deliberately absurd ones.
My role
I wrote 100% of the book's text, developing its stories, jokes, and tongue-in-cheek explanations through several rounds of feedback with Benjamin Levy. Illustrator Jim Sheppard created the accompanying artwork. The finished project reflected the editorial voice Gymglish wanted to project: cheeky, self-aware, irreverent, and informative without taking itself too seriously.
The booklet was printed as a company anniversary piece and shared with employees, clients, prospects, recruits, and visitors, while a digital version made the project available online.

GYMGLISH BY THE NUMBERS
Brand communications · Copywriting · Data storytelling · Humor
Turning corporate statistics into something less corporate.
Created as a playful take on the “by the numbers” infographics popular in corporate communications, Gymglish by the Numbers presented the company's scale, growth, international reach, educational impact, and culture through a mixture of genuine statistics and deliberately absurd ones. The result gave clients, prospects, partners, recruits, and visitors a snapshot of Gymglish while communicating the company's cheeky, irreverent personality.
My role
I led the creative writing and ideation, selecting statistics and finding the story—or joke—hidden in the data. Working with Benjamin Levy, Adrien Soullier and the marketing team, I developed headlines and copy before collaborating with a freelance graphic designer on the visual treatment. The challenge was to make each entry entertaining while preserving enough genuine information to communicate the company's growth and reach.
The infographic was updated over several editions and used on the website, in print, social media, email campaigns, press materials, and by sales and partnership teams.

Distance Learning & Pedagogy
As the lead creative at Gymglish, I designed original educational content for language learning via app or online. These short, daily lessons use an AI engine to personalize courses. I've worked on both the pedagogical and mapping side as well as the creative side of the lessons, featuring stories, videos, audios and more.
